Mike (my husband) has been a clusterhead for 23 years now. I've been there for 16 of those years. Believe me, the supporter's hat is a difficult one to wear, but it is survivable. If you ever need to talk, please feel free to email me at moxie_miss@hotmail.com anytime.
We are enjoying Mike's longest remission ever right now (almost 16 months) because of some alternative treatments we've found right here at ch.com. First, the water treatment helped him to break his worst cycle ever. Then, he tried the 'shroom treatment' and we think that is the single most effective treatment he has ever tried. You are your hubby's best defense against clusters, whether you realize it or not. Learn everything you can about it, and you've arrived at the best reference point you will ever find. Type 'shrooms' in the search button above to read about this treatment. Read all the buttons on the left. Get him some oxygen (we use welder's oxygen - I'm a migrainer and I use it too). Try ice on his pain, try dramamine before bed (or Benadryl). And don't forget to take some time for you. I know how hard this is, you don't want to leave in case he needs you, but when you can see your way clear, get out of the house. Go for a walk or a workout - do something physical to battle your own stress. It really helps.
But, best of all, pull up a chair here - you are among friends who have walked countless miles in your shoes.
Welcome.
