Susan:
Hi noticed your post on Ultram. Don't know if you keep up with the posts on here or not, but I put in a post a few days back titled "Am I Going Crazy." If you can still find that post I mentioned in there that the Doctor at the ERoom told me to take ULTRAM 50 MG. Now I am very new at this stuff called CH, I had my first one about 2 months ago and several small ones, (what I would just call a normal headaches), except they don't last long and come on fast. This last Monday, (still not knowing what was wrong with me) I went to the hospital ER and came home with what the Dr called CH. I thought I was having a stroke when I went to the hospital. They did a cat scan and more blood work, as I had just had a bunch of blood work done the week before by my regular Dr, everything to date is coming back normal (Explains my question that I posted). Now this coming Fri I go see the nero to get his advise on what is going on. As to your question on Ultram, I was all ready taking this medicine for back pain and Arthritis in my hip, but not on a regular basis, maybe once a week maybe every other week. My regular Dr told me to take it for my CH as did the Dr at the ERoom, until such time as I see the neur. Did it help me, yes 1/2 tablet helps with the regular headaches as explained above, I have not taken it for the really bad ones yet, as I have not had a really bad one since being told to take it. I took Extra Strength Tylenol Monday night before going to the hospital, with no help from it. I can take up to two tables every 4 to 6 hours of the Ultram, but have never had to take that strong a dose. I am sure they would put me to sleep if I took a stronger dose, so do be carefull. If you are taking the highest dosage the Dr suggested, I would contact him before going above that amount, just for your safety. We all react different to different drugs, so Please do be careful and let me know how you are doing. But, Yes, as mentioned Ultram 50 MG helps me with the daily headaches and yes it is just a cover up for the pain.
