I'm suffering from clusterdeadache for 30 years now. Did not know the name in the beginning, but the pain was the same. Very classical cluster (once every 1 to 2 year for about 6 to 8 weeks) Nothing helped till Imitrex (Imigran we call it) came. Great stuff, but of course I had all the problems everyone knows now about, maximum dose, rebound headaches etc.
So last time (2 years ago) I started experimenting with the tablets. During the most intense part of the cluster I took them prophilactic, helped and coached by my pharmacist.
2 years later I'm in a cluster again (on a working holliday in South Africa, great). Now they have the 50 mg tablets. What I do now in the middle of the cluster is taking 1 tablet every 3 to 4 hours, the last one before I go to sleep and also one 4 hours later(use my alarmclock) Besides that I do not work, no physical excersise, eat something every 2 hours and yes ; the attacks have gone. The cluster is still there, I can feel it, but no pain, no attacks. After 3 weeks I'm going to reduce the medication slowly to get of the hook of Imitrex.
Does anyone has the same experience ?
