every pain, every itch, a sneeze, a cough, a watery eye ... in fact hunger and thirst ... are autonomic body responses to antagonists, real or imagined. the fact that a hypnotized person can raise blisters under an ice cube if he's told it's a hot ingot is proof that responses can be incorrect.
so i think you may have a point. the CH may be the body's way of calling our attention to something that it perceives as out of order - either correctly or in error.
that said, the one attribute of CH that i think flies in the face of most theories of cause is - why on only one side? if the body thinks it needs a correction and is complaining via the CH ... why doesn't it ask on both sides? how would you attend the one-sidedness of CH with a body request/response action?
not discounting your thoughts ... just thinking out loud with you ...
