After trying many drugs over the years, with no success, I now try to get through my cycles without drugs. As soon as I wake up, I take Excedrin Migraine formula, which has caffeine in it. I think this helps a bit, although it bothers my stomach.
Then I sit down with dim lighting, a pad and pen, and I write out the names of the states in alphabetical order. Then I write in the names of the state capitals. I try not to fight the pain, and this helps me stay calm because it occupies my mind, but I don't have to think about it, since I have memorised the states over the years. I think this is like a kind of meditation or maybe biofeedback. While the pain is really bad I can't write, but I just keep going back to it until the headache is over.
On the other hand, I tried the LSD cure near the end of this cycle. It didn't stop the cycle dead, but I think it had a good effect. Next year I will try the shrooms, at the beginning of the cycle. Good luck!
