Hate to condone a bad thing but in my way of thinking, tobacco probably helps stop the HA. Alcohol triggers them because it dialates/expands the blood vessels (why heavy drinkers have red faces). Nicotine, being a stimulant constricts the blood vessels same as imitrex or cafergot. I take cafergot. My Dr. got really pissed at me for taking more than the perscribed limit of cafergot. Said my blood vessels may shut down altogether and cause gang-green. He then asked if I smoke. Said if I did he would really be worried. I do fire up a cigar once in a while. Never caused a prob. for me.
