After 10 straight nights of increasing severe attacks, Lee finally had a pain-free night again. He saw his neurologist yesterday--a truly wonderful doctor. His doctor felt the Serzone he started taking two weeks ago (prescribed by another doctor--we found out it's really important that the doctor treating your headaches is aware of ANY med you are prescribed) triggered the latest round of headaches. So, he's tapering off them ASAP. He didn't take his usual dose of serzone last night and didn't have a headache--so maybe? Also, David made a post recently about not sleeping on the side that he had the headache on--figured it was worth trying. Lee almost always sleeps on his left side (headache side) and so tried sleeping on the other side last night. He's also taking more verapamil--up to 560. So, whatever the reason, we'll take it! Another word about his doctor--we spent nearly an hour with him. He seemed truly interested in what I had found out on this site--meds, home remedies, etc. Also, he would be glad to have some OUCH brochures in his office! If only more doctors could be like this.
