My little girl is seven yrs old, and about 3 weeks ago she started having really bad headaches. The would last for hours, and I could tell she was really in pain. It was terrible, they hit her in the middle of the night as well as through the day. The pain she has is on the left side of her head, around her temple, next to her eye. I took her to the doctor, and he gave her a physical exam, checked her eyes, and her physical abilities. He put her on cyprohepadine. She started it last Friday. She went to her Dad's that night for the weekend, and called me on Saturday, excited because she slept all night, and didn't wake up with a headache, which made me feel better, but then she called Sunday and said she was up with one again. She had another Sunday during the day, and again on Sunday night, as well as tonight (Monday) I called today to get the referral for a catscan, and get a second opinion, but after I watched the show on headaches, and the cluster headaches, her pain was the same...in the side of her face. I was crushed. She is only 7 years old, and it is so hard watching her go through this pain. And to think she may have to deal with this for the rest of her life. I cry with her when she has them. I try Children's Tylenol, and Advil, and it doesn't even phase her. All she can do is lay there and cry. It is hard for a mother to watch this. Thanks for listening.
