More headaches than medication will allow for

Hi, I'm currently experiencing 3 to 4 headaches in 24 hours but my Imitrex prescription only allows for 2 doses in 24 hours...which means I'm left to suffer through an attack without medication. I've sucummbed to the pain on a couple occasions and have taken 3 doses in 24 hours but I'm really concerned about the downside to this thinking. It was all I could do last night to keep from taking a 4th dose.

The Imitrex works just fine when I take it early enough but I'd be interested to hear of medications which stay with you longer so they don't need to be repeated as often.
