When Oxygen was used on me at the docs they used a flow rate of 10 liters p/m but didn't use a non rebreather mask, just the nose canules. That may be the problem. I had the same treatment when I first began having CH's in my early 20's and there was no effect...good or bad. Last time was several weeks ago and it cleared the headache but a few minutes after removing the oxygen it came back on way worse. That's when they first gave me Toradal...quick relief!
They haven't given me any abortives to deal with attacks till the Verapamil kicks in, so...next time I'm forced to go in when the pain is too bad I'll ask them to try it with the mask. Hopefully they'll have one available. It would be wonderful, I really don't like the side effects of most of the drugs.
I also started taking magnesium supplements today...I had read that magnesium levels tend to be low in both migraine and CH sufferers so what the heck. I'm willing to try about anything!
