No. it's not putting someones head back on, it's a method of paying your Primary Care doc a fixed amount every month to care for you...whether he see's you or not.
There are several flavors.
- He gets paid a fixed amount and is not liable beyond that; bad docs, never see you, refer you all over the place and call in lots of drugs.
- He gets paid a fixed amount and is liable for all physician services (what Frank descibes); bad docs, limit services including drugs
- many more but you get the picture
Kevin, if your doc was the second example, she screwed up, the last thing they want if for you to go to the ER ... especially for a weeks worth of imitrex.
