Dear Bob P Thanks for responding to my post. You pose a fair question. I work for a hospital, so I'm often quizzing our neurologists about just such questions. Regarding the odd pattern of some strong , predictable regularity of chs interspersed with changes in the patterns "out of the blue" the only rational answer I get is that the disorder involves the hypothalmus, which you know regulates circadian biorhythms among other things. The area of the gland that is the regulator has "oscillator" tissue which is apparently screwed up in our condition. Therefore, the fact that my headaches ALWAYS start with the days becoming shortened but NOT EVERY YEAR simply points to the fact that the tissue I mentioned is not functioning correctly, and may behave in any number of wacky ways in us as individuals. Nice to know information, eh? Too bad there's not a damn thing we can do with the infor. Thanks again tom
