I was treated with Sansert for two previous episodes. Both times it worked quite well for me. It took a week or two before I noticed the benefits, but eventually I was getting fewer headaches, they were less severe, and they didn't last as long.
This episode (it's now been about 3 months) my neuro wrote a scrip for Imitrex to abort the headaches. The Imitrex manufacturer, Glaxo-Wellcome, has stated that patients should not take Sansert if they use Imitrex. My neuro is not convinced that there is any scientific validity to back this up and has personally contacted Glaxo. Their position is basically to play it safe until appropriate studies have been conducted. So instead of Sansert I am now taking verapamil; it too took a couple of weeks to kick in and I am now experiencing fewer headaches that are shorter and less severe.
Bottom line though is that Sansert did work for me. I wish you good success with it as well.
