I’m taking 240 mg. of Verapamil (in a generic form called “Calan”) plus 1 mg. of ergotamine a day. This combo seems to be keeping my clusters in check. I’ve had episodic clusters since 1956 and this is the first time that anything besides waiting two months for the episode to end all by itself has worked. The monster still attacks, but the attacks are very weak and fleeting. I’m in agony for a quick ten seconds or so and then it’s all over. I feel like the third little pig, safe in his brick house while, outside, the wolf huffs and puffs, fruitlessly trying to get in. Previously, I would be howling at the moon all night long. I hope that Verapamil, either by itself or in combination with something else, will work as well for you. Best wishes for a lessening of the pain!
