I'm not a chronic sufferer, I have had anywhere from 1 year to 3.5 years between bouts that last about 1.5 and 2 weeks with at least 1 or 2 per day. I was introduced to Imitrex by my doctor about 8 years ago and is the only abortive product that ever worked. Typically if I take the injection in the early stages, the pain is gone within 10 minutes. If its already going strong it may take 15 min but always kills it. I'm new to this site and I just read about getting more injections by doing it manually. I just started another bout 3 days ago and I'm going to try half an injection tonite when the beast wakes me. I'll let you know the results after a few tries. I've tried the Imitrex pills without relief, but I haven't yet tried the nasal spray. Doc gave me some samples so if I get up the courage I may try them. It's hard to try something new when what I'm doing already works well. The injections are expensive but when in pain - money loses its value.
