imitrex injections

I took my first shot yesterday and i could literally feel it running through me,from my stomach, through my neck and finally my head and eye, i've been waiting for a 8+ or more to try it and this one was likely to be it. I was pain free in about 3 minutes but had strange tightness in my neck and upper body,this passed in about 15 minutes.
I couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the day.
my question is has anyone been able to abort with injection in the height of an attack or is there another equally effective abort treatment less expensive that i should add to my arsenal?
