- Help for Son!
I am the mother of a 17-year-old son who has been diagnosed with
chronic daily headache and migraines. We have been to Michigan with
Dr. Saper, March of 2000. The preventives worked a little for awhile,
but now we are back to pretty much where we started from. He has quit
school, can't hold a job. He is totally dependent on me and his dad
financially and physically. He as tried basically all of the current
headaches meds. We just started Depakote, but the side effects,
(especially the hair loss) really have him worried. Are there any
other parents out there who can help us cope or identify with our
situation? We feel so helpless when he is in so much pain?

- Combination Headaches
I've been struggling with chronic headaches for the last 3-4 years.
They are "co-existing migraine and tension-type headaches." basically,
I have a chronic/constant tension headache with occasional, recurrent
migraines (about once a week for no more than a day). I've tried all
kinds of medicines and am currently on Effexor and Baclofen. I've
recently started seeing a pain management specialist and we haven't
found something that works for me ... Any one else with the same kind
of problems?

I'm wondering who has had success with removing foods from their diet?
I went on a strict anti-candida diet in August and during the one
month I ate absolutely NO SUGAR (and no fruit juice, very little fruit
at all), my headaches decreased greatly. I find that when I eat
something with a lot of sugar, I will often get a headache. But, I
have a terrible sweet tooth and have not been able to stay sugar-free
since that month. My headaches are back, even though I eat much less
sugar than I used to. I'm thinking of trying another hard-core month
to see if it helps.
