Started having them in the '50s. Tried evrything I good buy over the shelf, and everything a doctor could prescribe, including codine. No help. In the middle '80s, I stumbled on BC powders. Found that three, taken early, would almost always stop the headache. Changed my life. Still had to suffer through a few, but since I started using Imitrex as a last resort, even those few are taken care of.
I don't know what BC has that is different, but I know it works for me. Goodies, a simular product, does not work. BC, taken in water or soft drinks nausiates me. I take it in grapefruit juice, and can't taste it.
I've been taking BC for sixteen years or so, so I guess there are no bad side effects.
