Folks here love Imitrex injection and the medical literature reports it as the most effective abortive out there. Not uncommon to get relief starting in 5-10 minutes.
If your doc has not tried other abortive meds first, it makes me wonder if he is very up to date on treatment. I'd suggest your asking him quite directly about his experience with Cluster. A remarkable percentage of docs are poorly trained in this problem.
