I know there have been questions about this. I am posting this mainly so that others (and myself) can easly retrieve it through search.
The journal of my Dutch headache org just published a list of meds and their influence on pregnancy. This was taken from "Migraine in Women" by Anne McGregor, (London 1999) and of course deals mainly with migraine meds.
But I have seen a number of these preparations mentioned by people on this board who take them or have them prescribed for their clusters.
Otc and other `ordinary' pain killers:
aspirin not in last 3 months
ibuprofen not in last 3 months
codein and others not enough info available
paracetamol safest on the whole
"Classical" migraine meds:
ergotamin
(like Cafergot) do NOT use at ALL
Triptans
(Imitrex, Zomig,
Maxalt Naramig) not enough info available
Other meds:
amitryptiline if unavoidable, ONLY during
4-6 month, preferably not
methysergide not at ALL
Sandomigran probably safe
Propranolon probably safe
Depakine (valproine acid) not at ALL
Verapamil probably safe but slight
indication of heart problems
I have taken do not use at all to include: do not conceive when taking these meds but this goes especially for ergotamins.
I just gave the outline, for more info read the book
(what else are public libraries for?)
