Hey Jimm,
Thanks for the info. I somehow doubt that I would qualify based on my income, but I wish there was a happy medium between $5 a month and $500 a month. I'm upset at the insurance companies for not recognizing our need, and to a lesser extent, the doctors who are too chicken to do anything about it. Even the pharmacy companies suck; I know CVS charges my insurance company $92 for a 6-pack of nasal spray, but they charge me the full retail price of $129. How's that for a deal? I'd like to know what the pharmacies' margin is on Imitrex.
I agree with your posted e-mail to 48 hours. I hate it when clusters get lumped together with migraines. Basically, CH sufferers have one basic need: pain relief. But to obtain that, there is also a need for non-sufferers to understand the magnitude of our pain. Every time severe headaches are treated as "just a headache" and clusters are grouped as "a type of migraine", there is gross injustice done to us.
Unfortunately, I know how the media works. It's unlikely that they'll pay much attention to clusterheads; it's not that much appealing of a story. Ironically, any kind of attention to migraines sometimes helps us indirectly, at least so far. Imitrex would never have happened if not for trying to stop migraines. Migraine coverage is better than nothing, but I think us clusterheads would all like to see better-educated industries (medical, insurance, pharmaceutical) and the public in general (including employers, family, relatives, and friends).
