i own a welding shop and use welding 02 to abort my CH. 02 tanks used for welding are never filled with anything but 02, they cant be because the connection valve is diffrent than say an argon connection. according to my supplier the only difference between medical and welding 02 is paper work, the medical tanks are inspected. all 02 is the same except aviation grade 02, with that they suck all the moisture out so that theres no chance of freezing lines at high alltitudes (ask, paco on this one)
i dont recommend using welding tanks because of the possibilty of rust in them, i bought 2 brand new 80 cubic in. tanks at the cost of $165.00 a piece. if you have no choice and have to use a welding tank get a water bubbler, that will take most of the shit out of the 02 before you breath it.
hope this helps someone.
