Daniel, The Dr's burn't the right side Trigeminal Nerve to remove the feeling of that side and to stop pain of Chronic CH's. Procedure involves them putting small wire with a burning tip on it 3cms from the right corner of my mouth. They then inserted wire into nerve canal and went to the back of the orbit of my eye where the Trigeminal nerve is located. Once in place they begin burning each of the 3 branches of the nerve,(forehead, cheek area and lower jaw) one branch at a time beginning with forehead ending with lower jaw. They knock you out while burning nerve to upwards of 90 degrees centigrade. After burning for a while they awake you and use needle to prick area being worked and they ask you to tell them what you feel. This is done in each area until Dr gets the results he is looking for. This prcedure takes about 2-3 hrs. Have had it done twice due to re-generation of part of nerve. Lot's of side affects. Having been there would not advise anyone having it done. There are to many side affects. If your wanting to know about this you must have been through the proverbial mill. Believe me, this is not the answer. After all I've been through in 28 years still looking for the CURE> am tired of being sick and in pain.
Daniel, hope this is valuble to you in your search
