Hi. I was just told the bad news today that i have cluster headaches.
I'm only 19 and I've just acquired them. I never even knew about
this condition before and apparently not many ppl have.
All day ppl have said "oh i know what those are...those light headaches
around the top of your head" or "at least you dont have migraines"
HA HA little do they know. Most ppl dont understand and its SO
frustrating to try to explain why your afraid to go to sleep or why
when you get the headache you have to pace around the room and resist
beating your head to death. How did u guys overcome that? How do you
make ppl understand? I'm also kinda worried cuz i am in college and
these headaches are really making it hard for me to study or even to
sleep at night. My doctor gave me 2 presciptions that are only going
to last a week. One is a painkiller that i am supposed to take constantly,
the other is for when I get a headache. This is my first day of both
them though so hopefully i'll sleep thru the night tonight. Last night
I was awakened no less than 4 times with headaches, only to awaken with
one at 5am and not be able to go back to sleep. Does this get better?
Thanks so much for your help!
