Alcohol dialates the blood vessels. That's why people who drink have the red face/nose. The bloos vessels are dialted. That's also why they say not to drink alcohol when you're cold. The vessles dialate and loose body heat to the surroundings. The body's normal reaction to cold is to constrict the surface vessels to conserve heat for the body core.
