I think I have posted before that I used the Duragesic patchs on my last cluster. They kept me from having to be hospitalized a second time in my cycle. They did NOT take them away. But I went from one ervery two hours ALL day tto four a night and shadows during the day. I felt more druged on topamax than on the patches. and the topamax didn't work in fact i beleave they were worse because of the topamax but thats me. I respond weird to meds. I used the 75. I tried the 100 and the ch'ss were very much under control but my body couldn't handle that much narc so i had to go down. My body did get addicted to them. When my ch went away I had to taper off slowly. I tried to quite cold turkey and got the shakes and couldn't sleep and so on. But I tapered off with no problem. I WANT A CURE or at least a prventative but If I had to I would go on them again because I was really at the end of my rope. Thinking all I wanted to do was die. Not go to the hospital or try to work through them, I just wanted to end them and I knew the only way to was to end my life. So I am glad my husband called the doctor and he put me on them. I survived that cycle. Thank God. It was a nasty 6 month long one. I do not look forward to the next. I hope they have something new to try. I just want to live. Love Paula
