Man is this place a breath of fresh air. I have not, in 22yrs. ever talked to another person who suffered from clusters. Many who suffer from migraines but not clusters. I diagnosed mine myself from all that I've read about headaches. Had they not been classic I may not been able to diagnose them myself.
I was treated, in the 70''s, for migraines but to no avail. I suffered through them for about 15 yrs. finally I couldn't stand it any longer. the medical community has come along way over the years. I've run into a physicians assistant that knows more about clusters than any doctor I've ever donated my money too. She put me on prednizone and Imitrex. I've been wandering though this site most of the day and have read most everything written and stored here. (A WEALTH OF INFORMATION)
Keeping a job to feed 6 kids with this disease has been tricky to say the least. I've had some very understanding employers over the years.
when I found this site I couldn't believe my eyes I read and read then I just cried. There have been times it has seemed hopeless but the bouts always ended, I would gain my weight back and life would be good for a couple of yrs. then the merry-go-round would start over. today I am resigned to the fact that I will probably always suffer from these damn headaches but life goes on.
When people ask me what they feel like I tell them " It feels like some one has turned a corkscrew into my eyeball and is trying to pull it out". there reactions are mixed.
alone no more,
Gus
