Sometimes I also hold hot liquid in the affected side of my mouth. And I use a hot packup the side of my face.
Other times, for reasons I have no clue, I want a cold pack and a cold beverage.
However, when heat is the ticket I find holding hot tea or coffee in my mouth helpful.(As much as anything helps!)
