I think it's the insurance co. telling the docs what they can and can't give. This is BULL too. My brother had cancer and was talking "massive" doses of morphine and he was NOT addicted - he just had to have it. He did have a doc that wasn't afraid to give it to him. At least he didn't suffer as much as he would have with an "insurance" dosage.

HMOs and PPOs have started dictating to doctors. That's our no. 1 problem. I think 48Hours made that pretty plain. Guess it's time to work on that. We all know that from the Imitrex scrips. The ins. will only pay for the "normal" dosage and NOT for what we actually NEED.

Wish there was an easy answer, but got a feeling it's gonna be a while before this one is solved.
