Hey- I am self diagnosed only because my idiot Doc (who won't prescribe anything for pain) has not diagnosed me. This is a great site, I keep telling him I have migraines when in fact I don't. I have described this awfulness, and in the midst of a cluster I tearfully told him I am depressed, anxious and in pain. He doubled my beta-blocking blood pressure med and sent me out the door with the admonishment that I need to 'seek counseling'. The scary thing is I am a Nurse and the idiot KNOWS that!!!
By the way I am also a student and the Medical-Surgical instructor did lecture on clusters along with her presentation on Headaches/ Migraine. That lends us some hope.Needless to say, this patient is changing Docs- as well as insurances. Thanks for listening and for all the great ideas. (Oh, I will use narcotics if prescribed, Fiorinal helps, as does Fioricet)
