a friend of mine who died recently must have been close to 75, and he had had CH for many, many years.
He had had 2 gamma knife surgeries - one which helped one side. He told me the pain switched sides, and the second surgery was not effective.
The poor man had a bad heart and died of a heart attack in October. His most recent prescription was nothing better than codeine. I only knew him a brief time so I cannot tell you too much about his history. But he told me he never discussed his head pain with anyone except another CH sufferer because he knew no one else understood.
I urged him to join the message board, but unless he was just a lurker, I do not think he did. In fact, I am not sure he had a computer. Oxygen might have helped him since Imitrex was forbidden.
Who knows?
