dear skor,
have had it since 72, feel as desperate as you often, especially since this summer, daily pain. The only days of relief when weather turned from dry to heavy rain, or like you mention often w. cold in winter. Had 1 painfree week now, after removing my lower denture, but it returned again. Am seeing dentist about better bite adjustment.
Have you checked out your allergies ? most likely you are allergic to dust and mites, like myself, that's why we get better in the cold. Vacuum cleaners and carpets are terrible, against mites the room should be warm and dry, they love humidity. Have used an air filter now and at least my eyes are less red and can breathe better. In the US they are quite good w. products for allergic people, check the net for allergies, the best air filter is the HEPA labelled.
Have you tried anti-inflammatory like Feldene ?
It helps keep mine down to a level where I manage w. 3 maxalt a week. Try maxalt instead of Imitrex, the "melting" tab. called rapitab, but you must use it at the first sign of attack in order to be effective. I also use a steroid nasal spray (cortisone) "rhinocort" on a regular basis to avoid sinus inflammation.
My CH is probably created by spinal problem, that's why the anti-inflamm. helps a bit. Also TMJ, really worth for you to look into it even if you think your teeth are in order. Try HUGNET.COM
contact them for a real good dentist in your area.
Before giving up, you must try all possibilities!
Once you get some painfree time, you'll see hôw wonderful life can be again.
Love to you and for a better Xmas,
viviane
