I can definitely relate to the heat part. I'm fairly certain that my body temp rises, especially in my face on the side of the CH, when the attack is anything above mild. Then, I become very sensitive to warm air, so if the ambient temp is even slightly warmer than normal, it just seems like the headache gets worse.
However, I have also read that hot showers can reduce or even abort the headaches. I tried this for the first time yesterday, and it seems to work. I've known that even though ice packs might feel good temporarily, it makes the pain worse (possibly by constricting blood vessels?).
I don't know about the sleep part because I seldom get CH at night.
