I have seen countless replies on this board from veterans who give the following advice (loosely worded) to people who think they may have clusters, but are not really sure:
"Check the links on the left side of the board, especially Cluster Traits and Cluster Quiz. If after reading this info, you still feel you have cluster headaches, see a neurologist and tell him that you suspect you have cluster headaches and explain why. If after reading them it seems you may have migraines, see a neurologist and tell him that you suspect you have migraines and tell him why.
If a diagnosis of CH is confirmed, welcome aboard. If a diagnosis of migraines is comfirmed, check out www.headachesupportgroups.com and good luck to you."
Like virtually all of the denizens of this site, I was originally misdiagnosed, and told I had migraines. I sure wish I had. Too bad for me.
But, I can tell you for sure that if I did have migraines, I certainly wouldn't spend any of my time hanging around a site for clusterheads. What possible benefit would there be to me? None.
Some of the denizens of this site have both migraines and clusters. No one here gives them a hard time about it. We will share with them everything we can about clusters, but we presume that when they have questions about migraines, they post at a migraine-oriented site.
That has nothing to do with elitism. That's just common sense.
