As you say, there is lots of founding for research for migraine sufferers, and that is good for them. Also, some of the meds for migraine are good for clusterheads too. But these are no reasons for us to jump on their bandwagon and get swamped by the many more migraine sufferers. On the contrary, this would be counterproductive, see my followup to the thread above.
Of course, the pharma companies like to rake in the money of the clusterheads, but they do not any research towards us:
For the FDA approval of Imitrex they have shown that it is save to take 5 doses per week. Clusterheads taking more do it at their own risk.
The 'Imitrex tip' used by many, shows that a third of the dose necessary for migraines will abort a CH attack. But Glaxo does not provide for this lower dose sufficient for CH.
Unless we stress over and over again that the CH beast is different from migraine, we'll be left out in the rain.
