First thing you need to do is find a doctor you can talk to and that can understand YOUR pain and gives a damn. Not an easy task (go back and read "My doctor is an ASS!"
Have you tried anything other than pain killers? That could have a longer lasting effect (I know, I know, you want relief and right now! as we all do, but....).
Until you find a Dr. Right, you'll continue going through this problem (no matter how old you are). I had just the opposite problem. Pain meds don't work on me at all and that's all the docs wanted to give me. Had to stomp my foot more than once to get some help. Finally got DHE-45 and got rid of that one (the first one) after 2 months of screaming. Imitrex works to relieve the pain (not the headache), but there are about 50 abortives and preventatives out there. Find a doctor to talk to about them.
