I'm in the middle of a rather intense bout (at least for me) of cluster headaches. I admit I generally check out this site while in the midst of the headaches and not so much otherwise.
This is year five for me. Usually 4-6 week periods in the spring OR the fall. This year, despite having attacks in May, they have been around again since Halloween, at about 2 a day.
I love Imitrex!!! I use 20mg spray in the left nostril when I feel pressure I associate with the oncoming headache. The pressue and pain always begin in the front left of my head and work around the back to my neck and down to my eye and nose on the left side. I use the Imitrex and a cold pack which I always keep in the freezer for such an occasion.
It took me only until my third year to diagnose the headaches. So there was only two years of pain AND panic (note the sarcasm). After negative allergy tests and MRIs, I finally saw my symptons listed after searching Yahoo for "headaches" and finding a fellow sufferer. I then told my Doctor who gave me Imitrex for the first time. It was a whole new world! The relief of knowing "it's not a tumor" or somthing else serious was immense. I love the web more than Imitrex!
Anyway, I'm very annoyed that I have had these twice this year. I was so glad when it ended in the spring. But, that's how it goes sometimes.
While looking at the CVS web site today, to check on my lastest perscription, I found this article from August which caught my attention. I didn't see it noted on this site although, since these messages don't go back as far as August, it might have been discussed then.
