I just got my first "wake up from sleep" headache for the season. I have gotten these terrifying headaches before, only while sleeping. I usually get them in the winter time or just before winter when it's cold. I always associated them with feeling chilly in the room. However two nights ago, it wasn't chilly, it was comfortable. I never get them in the summer, even with the a/c blowing right on me. All I know is that, thank god they last only like seconds, but it scares me to death. I feel like I want to open up my skull and massage something inside. I have a hard time explaining what it feels like to others, only that it terrifies me. I thought I was the only person on the face of the earth that felt this way. How do I know if this is considered "cluster headaches"? I checked out the quiz etc. but am not able to reach a conclusion. Thanks for any help. Donna
