For me cluster attacks are the worst pain I have ever known. Sometimes I wonder about the kip scale. Probably the second worse pain I have had has been kidney stones. I have read many posts from women stating that they would rather have 10 babies the a bad cluster attack. I wonder sometimes how come so many can get several attacks a day and still remain at work or drive etc. I have never seen a woman in late childbirth that could just fake ther way through the pain. Maybe I just not as tolerant as many of you to pain. When I get an attack I will always pace or curl up on the floor in the fetal postition and not be able to hold still or drive home. It doesn't matter where I'm at the pain is unbearable and it is quite embarrasing to get an attack in public. With the meds I'm on now the pain level is much lower and the attacks come on slower so I can get by a lot better with a public attack. I have had people call the paramedic a couple of times when I did't know that I would be ok when I first started getting a #10 attack. Perhaps mine come on quicker " They can hit close to a 10 in less then a minute.". I can use biodfeedback up to about a level 6. When I was at Diamond Headache Clinic and would get attacks during a biofeedback session they wouldn't even try to get me to lower the pain level with the biofeedback and said that it can't work for that kind of intense pain. As a migraine sufferer also, I use biofeedback effectivly even for the worst headaches. Do any of you get stuck in such a bad way when you get an attack, say at the store or in a meeting etc. I would like to know if it's common to get hit so hard so fast and what have you done to cope. I usually just did't go out alone except for the 1/2 hour break I used to get between attacks. I always went with someone. Thankfully now my meds make it possible to get out most of the time.
