The disaster in Belize just changes my plans. I was ready to sell and move on to something else, but now there is the matter of an insurance claim and rebuilding before I can sell. God laughs when you make plans sometimes.
We went looking for mushrooms, but the cows were not cooperating. If the CH attacks had not started to spiral out of control as quickly as they were, I may have held out for the consistancy plan.
LSD was my next most likely long-term treatment. I had done substantial work several months back and at the time concluded that both were most likely interchangable in the treatment of CH.
So it came down to supply and availability. Certainly LSD was more expensive and risky to obtain. I understood that it may spoil any "research" but my intention is to get relief for my own condition so that I can achieve a former level of productivity. The research can be undertaken by the CH Foundation in the time to come. I simply could not wait for the weather to change.
So far, since Saturday night, there have been no more signs of an attack, which is excellent news.
As an aside, I ran into a fellow at the party who holds the patent on the use of IBOGAINE in the treatment of certain OCD. Ibogane is very interesting as it is legal in the US and is a triple indole ring compound. I have this sneaky feeling that ibogaine could be effective also in the treatment of CH. In the treatment of OCD it is a one-time treatment, the acute effects of single dose lasting approximately three to four days. The africans use it only twice in a life-time in their rituals. There is some pretty messy litigation around the patents right now which complicate its availability but you might want to check it out. Surprisingly enough there is a group in Belize that use it in a OCD in-patient treatment program. Perhaps we could have the next OUCH convention at their facility?
