I forgot... I didn't answer the question, "which ones".
Again, it's an extremely long list that I'm sure I don't remember all of it.
(Please forgive the spelling. I'm not sure how all of this is spelled.)
I first saw a neurologist in 1985. Before that, the family doc gave me aspirin/codeine which were... somewhat effective. In 1985, they got much worse. They started me on Midrin. Not only did that not work, it made me photo sensitive and I got an extremely bad sun burn from 30 minutes in the sun. Others include Indocin, Inderol, Lithium, Prednisone, Ergotamine, Lidocaine up the nose, DHE 45 subQ and IV, Demerol (IV and IM), Depakote, Elavil, Sansert, Oxygen, Doxepin, Prozac. I've had MRI's, CAT Scans, Spinal Taps, X-Rays. I've tried chiropractic, which included some accupressure.
And that's only what I remember. The worst medicine I ever took was the DHE 45. It made me so anxious, I thought my skin was going to crawl off of me. The best was the 1-time IV injection of Demerol (this was before Imitrex). I was in the ER. They started me with IV DHE 45. That made my headache worse. This was obvious to everyone. So, the doctor (feeling sorry for me) order Demerol and just gave it to me in the heplock he'd already started. Talk about instant headache relief! WOW!!! But, I've never had that since and don't recommend anyone even ask for it. You'll be in the "junkie ward" in 5 minutes flat.
