If they aren't CH (probably not if they go on for days), and they aren't migraines either... then your mom need to get a MRI to rule out AVM (arterial venous malformation), an anuerysm, or subdural hematoma (bleeding in the brain). Don't want to scare you, but these are serious conditions and she ought to have the MRI done ASAP.
