Stephine:
Yes, I was on narcs for about a year. Fiorinal with codine, percocet, demeral, darvon, you name it. They sometimes reduced the pain, but didn't treat the symptoms. I finally went to a doctor that is understanding and helpfull, and listens to what you, the patient has to say. He tried several meds, CCB's, Predisone, etc., but none worked for my chronic attacks. He now has me on Cafergot (as needed) with Imitrex injections. I've been able to reduce the amount of Imitrex to about 1/4 of a full dose and still get relief. It's not a cure, but it at least allows me to continue to work and live with minor inconvieniences (if you can call a CH a minor inconvienience!) Keep the faith, keep looking for a treatment that works for him. Write if you need support, PFD&N's. VWM
