However the trials that were conducted, and that are referenced in the links I gave, indicate that it is a major factor is most mysterious syndromes. I'd just like people to devote 90secs of their time (and 1cc of spit) to help establish how many of us are carrying the infection.
Although my hypothalmus may well be deformed now, for the first 15 years of my life it was doing OK. Did any significant and unusual events with a known link to CH occur just prior to my headaches starting? No, apart from being prescribed tetracyclines for 12 months solid, that have certainly left me with a serious candida infection, along with every other candida related symptom know to man. Nothing out of the ordinary.
I didn't even make the connection with candida until I visited those sites, and thought back to the inception of my headaches. If I hadn't then I would still be as skeptical as I was last week. Even having recalled the tetracycline thing, and determind that all those niggling complaints that have been bothering me for the last 16 years closely resemble the symptoms of candida infection. Even then I honestly got the shock of my life when I spit turned into smeg and started crawling along the bottom of the glass. I swear my blood turned cold.
The spit test is an accurate way of identifying candida infection. In the same way that if your piss turns purple you can safely assume you have pothiria (however it's spelt). It isn't conclusive, but it's certainly where the smart money would go.
Like Ted said, a survey of one person isn't much use to anybody. So lets raise our glasses!
It's got to be a better shot than the furrowed brow and ruddy complection survey :)
