to others through unsolicited e-mails etc. be they jokes or trite homilies is the lack of personal involvement. I find no "heart" in it. Like the problem I have with folks who give money to charity, get a write-off , get their name praised as philanthropists but would never dream of "meeting" and interacting with a "bum", a "lazy welfare family" or some "retarded crippled kid".
If the "stories" are sent to me without a personal note of some kind....then I really don't care how "touching", "true", or "funny" the cut-n-paste crap is. I have a library card, access to the internet and my eyes open when I walk down the street. I can get my own thank you.
Anyone that knows me and my son knows how much this story you posted means to me. I live it.
I'm a sceptic. I'm not impressed by people's words...it's what they do and how they do it that I connect to.
Whew...who put a quarter in me this morning?? I guess I felt like someone was shaken me by the shoulders and was in my face shouting "FUNNY ISN"T IT".
I'm done preaching
