Jen, I've often thought about this also. I think I will stick with the clusters. My Mom had diabetes since she was 24. Her father died a 56 from it. Had amputations, stroke, and heart disease. My Mom died at age 50. I was six months pregnant. She had ten years of suffering, broken bones that would not heal, out of control blood sugars(even with very diligent testing and diet control, high doses of insulin) She had neuropathy, couldn't feel her feet, wheelchair bound. Dad had to take her into public bathrooms to help her. She eventually lost control of her bodily functions, dad had to take care of her. He is a Saint and she was very grateful. True Love. This I would not wish on anyone. I luckily was adopted so my risk of getting it is lower. My family is dying around me from this devastating illness. So to answer your survey... I'll suffer in agony for the eight or so weeks out of the year. It's a drop in the ocean compared to the life threating effects of other illnesses. That's my two cents
