August, Apparently a lot of folks cook the caps and stems in water, similar to making earl grey tea. Research indicates that heat destroies the active ingredients, so you might just want to eat them raw, especially if they have dried for a couple of days. I think the easiest thing to do would be to press them flat as possible and swallow them whole one at a time. You might want to put a dash of honey or something sweet on them and chase it down with orange juice or some sort of fruit juice, like ruby red grapefruit juice.
Quite frankly, the tea stinks. You have to hold your nose to keep from gagging of the smell and the liquid is putrid at best, even if strained through cheese cloth. Nothing is wasted if you eat them dried, whole and raw. In college many years ago we dried them and ate them with onion dip like potatoe chips. Better to think of oysters and don't chew, just swallow whole in one big gulp.
You can't overdose, without eating something like 10 pounds of them. I'd eat about 4 or 5 ounces and wait for about 30 minutes to an hour. If you want to then, eat several more ounces until you get an effect you are comfortable with. Even if you do take a full recreational dose, it should not affect the effect on the ch treatment.
I would not recommend doing this alone, although you could. Arrange a nice setting, have some music, unplug the phone, turn off the computer, tell neighbors not to disturb you, get comfortable and relax for about 6 hours. After about 8 hours you will be able to take a deep relaxing sleep. I wouldn't recommend sleeping during the first 4-6 hours, but if you do happen to fall asleep you should be fine too. I wouldn't plan on driving or being around anyone else until after you have slept for a while. Even then, ease back into your routine, if you can.
Part of the treatment, I believe now, is allowing the drug to act on the mind in such a way as to allow it to process unresolved synapses that have accumulated over months and years. This is nothing that you will be conscious of, but proper set and setting can not hurt, so what the hell, why not do it the whole nine-yards?
