My doctor will prescribe Vicodin for me, but I'm not chronic. I only get headaches for a month at a time. Also, Vicodin is really rough on my stomach. At least 10% of the time that I take it, I end up vomiting a few hours later.
Have you asked for anything else besides Percocet? I know that there are other narcotic pain killers out there. It sounds to me like they're just not taking his pain seriously, because I've known a few people who have had a pretty bottomless script for narcotic pain killers, for injuries, arthritis, dental problems, but never for headaches. I wish they would take us seriously. If it were me, I'd try different doctors until I found one to prescribe pain meds for me, but I know that's easier said than done. Good luck.
