that the prices for medications perscribed for CH's was so high. I'm a fellow sufferer that couldn't afford the meds even with my good insurance.
I've posted this before but it was some time back, so I'll do it again. It works for me, maybe it will work for you.
Whenever I feel a CH coming on I have about 5 minutes to stop it. I do this by using instant coffee. Two spoonfulls in a half cup of cold water... and drink it down in one gulp... YUCK!!! But, it works. Totally aborts the headache. No side effects other than the caffeine equal to two cups of coffee.
I hope this helps some of you. I just got over a cluster (pain free for a week now) and the instant coffee kept this one very tame. The only time it wasn't feasable was with the middle of the night headaches, where it was at full bore before it would wake me up. Then was too late.
But the daytime headaches... it felt so good being able to completely abort them before they got bad.
