Yes I'd wait and see too at this stage. I don't think another dose would see any additional benefit. The last one was worth trying, but I in hindsight I doubt that it made any difference. I think the initial dose probably gave you about as much relief as you are going to get in the short term. Repeating the dose again might even cause things to go to much the other way. There is also a risk of mild depression. Longer term I'd be hopeful that things stabilise and you do ultimately gain some remission from the treatment. It certainly seems to have changed your pattern, mostly in a positive way in that the frequency of attacks is vastly deminished.
As for the Kip scale. There is a problem with it, that I'm sure has been expressed before. Everybody thinks they have had a Kip 10, because they simply calibrate 10 to their sorest headache. I'm no different. However what I now classify as a 10 (since New Years day 1998), is different from what I classified as a 10 prior to that. I think that it can ALWAYS get more painful! The worst headaches I've had, have been rebound ones caused by over use of analgesic drugs. There were actually prescribed by my GP (the bastard) although they can all be purchased over the counter. The GP explained that opiates etc were of little use against neurological pain (is this true?), and that the only effective pain killers were:
aspirin
paracetomal
iboprufen
He of course omitted Ergotamine, being in complete ignorance of my condition. Anyhow he advised that I maximum relief could be obtained from combining the maximum dose of each in soluble form. Being adventurous, and not believing the opiates thing, I decided to do this using the 'with codiene' versions of all of them. Therefore I took soluble aspirin/codiene AND paracetomal/codiene AND ibprufen/codiene all at the same time. This was REALLY effective against everything up to and including Kip 7. And boy I enjoyed that codiene drift thing! However after a few days of doing this 4 times a day I started to get these unbelievable rebounds of a magnitude greater than anything I'd imagined. This scale was more richter than kip, in that it appeared to increase exponentially...
Anyhow...
Cheers for the update.
